How to join a Minecraft server
Add a Minecraft server address in Java or Bedrock, and check the edition and version before you travel.
Check the edition first
Java and Bedrock are different games that share a name. A Java server will not appear in the Bedrock server list, and a Bedrock server will not accept the Java launcher. Crossplay listings say they bridge the two. Read that claim on the server page before you assume every feature works on both sides.
On ScopeCraft, the edition is on the server profile next to the address. If you play on a console or a phone, you want Bedrock or crossplay. If you use the official Java launcher on a PC, you want Java or crossplay.
Join on Java Edition
Open Minecraft, choose the version shown on the listing, then Multiplayer, then Add Server. Paste the address. If the listing includes a port after a colon, keep it. The default Java port is 25565, and ScopeCraft hides that port when it is the default.
If the server uses mods, the listing should name them. You need the same loader and the same versions. A plain vanilla address will not install mods for you.
Join on Bedrock
Open Play, then Servers, then Add Server. Bedrock asks for an address and a port separately. If ScopeCraft shows host:port, the part before the colon is the address and the number after it is the port.
Bedrock does not run Java mods. A modpack listed as Java-only is not something you can add from a console.
